5 Year Strategic Plan

Overview

Lion’s Pride Mentoring has provided quality peer mentorship programming on the South and West sides of Chicago for nearly a decade. The organization has critically analyzed the data from years before to create a targeted and intentional strategic plan to be executed over the next 5 years. This strategic plan incorporates five key strategic directions:

  1. Responsibly maximize staff capacity

  2. Intentionally refresh program mode

  3. Thoughtfully redefine board roles

  4. Efficiently transition data systems

  5. Enhance and diversify fundraising and communications strategies

Each strategic direction covers multiple departments and coordination over the next five years. However, there are clear goals for the greater organization in relationship to these categories:

Board and Staff Development

The organization prides itself on having a highly motivated and collaborative team. As we expand to more schools, we will intentionally cultivate environments for employees to thrive. Lion’s Pride Mentoring will continue to structure and refine individual job roles and board responsibilities to effectively support recruitment and succession planning.

Enhanced Fundraising and Communications

The growth of Lion’s Pride Mentoring means a bigger budget and a bigger budget means enhanced fundraising strategies. Our team will strategically target individual, corporate, and foundation donors utilizing optimized communication strategies. To ensure our competitive advantage for fundraising opportunities, we will continue to refine our content and deliverables through direct marketing and social media.

Tech Integration and Data Systems

As the program expands, we intend to provide a digital curriculum to meet the current needs of our rapidly developing world. To this end, we will also increase our technology capabilities and cybersecurity infrastructure.

Curriculum Expansion

In addition to developing a digital Lion’s Pride Mentoring curriculum, we will conduct research and utilize existing data to improve our overall programming. We are also exploring the potential of an adult SEL curriculum that would expand our offerings to more of the Chicago community.
